No West Nile cases detected in Nova Scotia this summer, province says
Provided by: Canadian Press                            Oct 13, 2005
HALIFAX (CP) - A dry summer may have helped keep West Nile virus in check in Nova Scotia this summer. The Natural Resources Department tested 190 dead crows, blue jays and ravens, but found no trace of the virus....         "The temporary absence of West Nile Virus detected in our province should not cause us to prematurely lower our defenses against this disease. Preventative measures for all species including mosquito control and vaccination of horses continues remains critical at this time."   J. DeLuca DVM
