Iceburg is out of BWP main studbook mare, Emme (Viva Voltaire - Ramiro Z - Able Albert xx), and by Escudo I. His full sister, East of Eden, also beginning her career, has already proved herself to be a very successful show hunter in the southern US (photo below). As a foal, Iceburg received an excellent score of 76 on the BWP North American tour. The BWP jury suggested Iceburg remain a stallion, and subsequently, Iceburg was provisionally approved by the BWP in 2011. He will be fully approved following the completion of performance requirements to be met in the next few years. His show ring debut is anticipated for 2012. Iceburg currently stands 16.1h and should finish at 16.2-3. Iceburg is extremely handsome, well muscled and a very nice type with correct conformation, good movement, a lovely temperament, and a pedigree second to none. He has been started undersaddle and is as much a pleasure to ride as to watch. He is mannerly and easy going with three balanced gaits. Iceburg has been free jumped and consistently jumps in excellent form with abundant scope. Iceberg's breeding career also began as a 2-year old. His first crop of eight foals hit the ground in 2011. Among them "Lamaze", one of two colts that earned 86 points, tying for the highest scoring colt on the 2011 BWP NA keuring tour. Three of five Iceburg foals inspected also scored over 80 points, and all five earned scores over 75. Iceburg's offspring, consistently had many of the qualities we love about "Ice" with his lovely conformation and outstanding temperament. We believe Iceburg to be homozygous bay with the ability to throw black. Three of his foals born in 2011 were black, the rest were bay.
Iceburg's sire, Escudo I (photos below) was the 1994 Champion of the Stallion Performance Test out of 37 quality stallions. He received excellent scores in all categories. He won the jumping iwth 144.9 points, and went on to become Hanoverian show jumping Champion 5 year old in 1996, as well as German National Reserve 5 year old Jumper Champion. He is the son of the legendary 1995 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, Espri. Espri has produced over 20 licensed sons, as well as many grand prix show jumpers, including World Cup winner, E.T. and St. Pr. St. Athene. Many Escudo I mares have become Premium Mares and have scored exceptionally well in thier Mare Inspections and on Mare Performance Tests, giving Escudo I outstanding breeding value's for all categories including type, frame, conformation and jumping.
