Profile: In 1994, Jeannine was awarded the Indiana Horse Council Award for promotion of the equine industry. In 1995, she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. Jeannine later completed a Residency in Equine Medicine, Surgery & Theriogenology (Reproduction) at The Atlantic Veterinary College. While at the AVC, she investigated several products used to treat Failure of Passive Transfer in foals, as well as the the screening tests used to diagnose this condition. This research led to several publications and presentations at national and international veterinary conferences. Dr. DeLuca's special interest in equine neonatology (foals) certainly complements her husband's (Dr. Paul Johnston) specialty of equine reproduction. When not working on client horses, Jeannine can probably be found working with her husband Paul on their own breeding farm, or riding in local jumper competitions, or fox hunting with the Annapolis Valley Hunt. Most recently, Dr. DeLuca founded Harbour Ridge Equine, a mobile, exclusively equine, veterinary practice servicing areas in and around Florida's Martin & Palm Beach Counties.
