Profile:
Paul our Senior veterinarian, received his veterinary degree from the
Ontario Veterinary College in 1983 and opened his own large animal practice
in Hants county, Nova Scotia in 1986. In 1992, Paul traveled to Purdue University
(where he met his wife, Dr. DeLuca) to do a Residency in Large Animal Medicine. This experience
resulted in Equine Specialty, Board Certification with the American Board of
Veterinary Practitioners (Dipl ABVP).
Dr. Johnston also became affiliated with the University of Florida where he
studied to further specialize in animal reproduction. He successfully
completed the needed requirements and examinations and is now Board
Certified with The American College of Theriogenology, (Diplomate of the
ACT). Paul's primary areas of interest are lameness, medicine and equine
reproduction (his passion).
An avid outdoorsman,
Paul enjoys numerous activities, including farming, canoeing, fishing,
camping, hockey, foxhunting and pheasant
with his dog Roscoe. Paul other passions include raising warmblood sport horses
and standardbred race horses.
As Master and Huntsman of the Annapolis Valley Hunt Club, Paul's "spare
time" is spent training, exercising and hunting foxhounds.
