Windsorio 1999 BEL-W-189701-BWP
As a foal, Windsorio was awarded "First Premium" status by the Belgian Warmblood Association. During the summer of 2004 she was again awarded very high marks during her mare inspection and is fully approved as a BWP NAD main studbook mare. Now 7 years old, she is as impressive as ever, standing 17 hands and always turning heads. What you can't see in a photo is a disposition as dainty as her name, and a great mind! Petunia is quiet and gentle to handle. She is vice-free, healthy, completely sound, cross-ties, clips, trailers easily, and can be taken anywhere safely. She has an excellent work ethic. At only 5 years old, Petunia was a reliable mount for the Master of Foxhounds of the Annapolis Valley Hunt, she was extremely sensible, willing to work away from the field without hesitation, cross any obstacle, and as always, was an absolute dream to ride. Petunia is a lovely powerful mover with her own e-z going rhythm. She is light in the hand, balanced and will do automatic changes. She jumps comfortably in good form with plenty of scope, yet will not throw a riders position. We proudly attribute many of her good qualities and achievements to carefully selected bloodlines, the "rolling green natural" environment in which all our horses are raised and diversity of quality training that she has received. Petunia has had one foal herself by Abdullah in 2002 (Petullah) and has been flushed successfully for embryo transfer more than 8 times. As a mother her temperament remained outstanding and it is already evident that she has passed on many of these qualities to her offspring. Currently we are able to offer for sale two yearling (2005) fillies out of Petunia by the Dutch Warmblood Stallion Orlando. Thanks to the benefit of embryo transfer, during the past few years, Petunia has also been able to gain valuable horse show mileage on the Florida circuit in Wellington, at HITS Catskills, New York, and of course, right here in Nova Scotia.
