Allison Sears

Client Care Specialist (On Mat Leave)
I was born and raised in Brookfield Nova Scotia, currently living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia! I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2015, with a Bachelorette in Bio-Resource Management - Equine Science with Honours. In March 2019, I graduated from Maritime Business with a diploma in veterinary technology (with honours). I chose the veterinary field because my mum was a nurse, so she always inspired me to be empathetic towards humans and animals. Veterinary medicine was always an area that I wanted to learn more about, so I chose to hone in on a career that involved animals, people and veterinary medicine. The area of veterinary medicine that interests me the most is the lab. There is always room to learn and improve! The thing about the clinic that I love is my co-workers and meeting new clients/patients! I love the location and size of the clinic, as well as the stables. It always smells like home when you have horses at the clinic. A fun fact about myself is that I wanted to become a jockey at a young age, so I graduated high school early and moved to New Zealand in 2010. In New Zealand, I stayed at Kyrewood Equestrian Centre and completed the New Zealand Qualification Authority Sport Horse Level 4 Certification. I did not continue on my pursuit to become a jockey but loved the experience, and the horses!
